Because it’s too powerful. At their peak, prot Pallies could out-tank warriors, holy Pallies could out-heal priests, and retadins could outdps hunters and mages. That’s not right – no raid should be able to run with all of one class.

Because if they let Paladins become powerful, then the Rogues and Shaman nubs will whine, and then they will get buffed up, and then the Warriors and Hunters will complain, etc. until Blizzard realizes that everyone is too powerful, and does a mega nerf. Then we’re back to square one.

Also, Paladins have always been kind of overpowered. Not so much any more, but Pre-BC was insane the power of the Paladin. The Horde equivalent (the mighty Shaman) was not nearly as OP (but they both were overpowered).

Just my two cents.
