Recipe: Moonglow
For a short while, I was a bartender, and I love love love to experiment with different drinks. With Lunar Festival right around the corner, February 5-23 to be exact, this is the perfect time for a strangely glowing alcoholic beverage. Be on the lookout for my Festival Dumplings, coming soon!
Ingredients:
1 shot of Malibu Coconut Rum
Splash of Blue Curacao
Sprite (to fill)
Litecubes, frozen
Shaker & Ice
Directions:
Add a few cubes of ice to your shaker. Pour in Malibu and Blue Curacao. Shake shake shake. Strain over your “ice” into a lowball (short glass). Add sprite to fill the remainder of your glass.
Litecubes come in a variety of colors. I wanted aqua, so I ordered the rainbow which does a rainbow sequence, along with almost every solid color. You could get the plain white ones as well. The drink is a light aqua color without cubes.

Holy cow, what a cool idea! (No pun intended.) I’ve never seen those litecubes before but they are blowing my mind. What a beautiful looking drink…
BTW, where did you buy them?
I was looking for the link last night, to post, but I had to wait until this morning so I could check my work email for the order receipt!
Anyway, I bought them from http://www.earthorlando.com. Cheapest place I could find. I got 4 cubes for about 12 bux.
FWIW – the cubes don’t look very aqua in the picture, but they also come w/ a setting that splits the LED between green and blue..which might give more of a green tint.
Oh an alcoholic recipe, how exciting! That is a very cool looking drink, and although I don’t particularly like Malibu, I just might try this!
Light cubes, a drink I can find my home with.
hot, a drink i can use to find my keys…
