Good and Bad

If you’re like me, you want to hear the bad news first and get it out of the way. So, here it is.

We received an e-mail from the 10K donator asking for a refund of his donation due to the fact that he made a clerical error when donating. As much as we would have liked to have given the $10,000 to Child’s Play, it needed to be returned. He did, however, donate $100, which was his original intention. Screenshot below – certain info is blocked out for obvious reasons.

Before we received this news, we contacted Kristin over at Child’s Play to see how they would like the money transferred. So, we’ll be donating the remainder via check. The total comes to $2517.00 (including a $111.69 donation from TBK to offset the Paypal fees). Upon having to redo our raffle spreadsheet, we came across an accounting mistake ($11 to be exact), which did not effect any previous drawing winners. We’ll be posting the new raffle numbers and initials on our donations page.

Ok, so the good news.
We will have another raffle which we will document w/ screenshots tonight. Two of the previous winners have been moved to spots 1 and 2. We will contact them accordingly so they can select their prizes. The remaining winners will be chosen in the same fashion as before – we just need to get it done faster so I can get to work on the prizes. So, all who donated have a better shot at winning.

We’ve learned some valuable lessons which will, hopefully, make things easier next time around… And even though this was kind of a bummer, we still raised a lot of money, which will do a lot of good. So, thank you guys!!
